Bayern Win Run Ends With 3-3 Draw

The Allianz Arena witnessed a six-goal thriller, as champions, Bayern Munich, were held to a 3-3 draw by Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.

After Anthony Modeste's opener, Bayern rallied to equalise through Claudio Pizarro, with Xherdan Shaqiri putting them ahead. Pizzaro completed his brace to make it 3-1, but Hoffenheim pulled one back through the boot of Sejad Salihovic and somehow equalized through Roberto Firminto.

Bayern were confirmed Bundesliga champions with a record seven games to spare on Tuesday in their 3-1 win at Hertha Berlin.

Their 19 winning streak has come to an end but they're still on a 53 games unbeaten run. The Bundesliga champions have now dropped six points in three draws all season.

In the sixth minute, Thiago Alcantara slipped a pass through Bastian Schweinsteiger. Bastian hit a right footed shot from the left side of the box that went high.

A great opportunity fell for Hoffenheim's Kevin Volland in the 13th minute. However, his left footed shot from just outside the box missed inches to the left.

Anthony Modeste hit a pile driver in the 23rd minute from just outside the box that was saved by Bayern's number two Tom Starke in the bottom right corner.

Within seconds from the save, Hoffenheim had a fast break that saw Modeste open the scoring from a very close range, his shot finding the bottom right corner of the net. 1-0.

In the 27th minute Claudio Pizarro almost found an equalizer, as his right footed shot from just outside the box was saved by Jens Grahl in the bottom left corner.

Pizarro's probing finally paid off in the 31st minute, as Xherdan Shaqiri's cross found him in the centre of the box to head home a beautiful header that found the top left corner of the net. Game on.

In the 34th minute, the Bayern scorer turned provider to the man who assisted his goal, as Shaqiri put Bayern ahead with a left footed shot from the centre of the box that found the inside of top left corner of the post.

In the 40th minute, Frank Ribery made his mark, but only as a provider for Pizarro to find his second goal of the match. Pizzaro hit a right footed shot from close range that went in to put Bayern in the driving seat. 3-1.

Hoffenheim pulled one back a minute before half-time, Sejad Salihovic hitting a left footed freekick that screamed into the top left corner of the net.

In the 49th minute, Schweinsteiger attempted a right footed shot from a difficult angle and long range. It nearly sneaked in at goals, but Grahl was alert to make a save in the bottom left corner.

In the 59th minute, Shaqiri hit a left footed shot over the bar from the centre of the box after an assist by Ribery.

In the 75th minute, Hoffenheim completed a comeback to make it 3-3. Roberto Firminto hit a left footed shot from the centre of the box that found the right bottom corner of the net.
