Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, has hit back at Real Madrid’s, Cristiano Ronaldo, after the Portuguese claimed that match officials continuously favour the Blaugrana in El Clasico’s.
In a thrilling encounter at Bernabeu, referee, Undiano Mallenco, awarded three penalties – two for Barcelona and one for Real – and sent off Sergio Ramos in minute 65.
The guests took full advantage of having one men more on the field for the past 25 minutes, and their 4-3 leaves Spain’s top three within one point in the La Liga title race.
However, Pique has responded to Ronaldo and said the Real Madrid forward must stop crying and looking for excuses.
"It's a real shame that Ronaldo is complaining about the referee again after such a great game," Pique said.
"If we go and discuss each individual decision, Ronaldo's penalty was outside the area...
"It is unfair to talk about the referee. He did not have any influence on the final result."
Following the 4-3 for Barcelona and Atletico’s 2-0 against Real Betis, Atletico are now leading the La Liga log points-level with Real and one point ahead of Barcelona.
Despite the better goal difference, Real are only second based on the head-to-head rule in Spain. The Los Blancos only took one point against Atletico and Barcelona, but the later both have to play each other in the last game week of the season.
