This weekend, after a 3-0 win over St. Mirren, Steven Gerrard's Rangers secured the Scottish Premiership title, the club's first league triumph since 2011.
In response to the incredible achievement, thousands of supporters took to the streets to celebrate the occasion, which has earned major criticism in Scotland and around the world.
Speaking after claiming the first-ever league title of his playing and managerial career, Gerrard admitted he understands that, although protocols should restrict fans from going over the top, it is hard to enjoy the moment considering how long the wait for another league trophy has been.
"During a pandemic, you think maybe it wouldn't be like it was today. But what you saw today is 10 years of what these supporters have been through," he said, according to the Daily Mirror.
"I'm delighted for them and really proud of the players' efforts because they have been outstanding.
"From a league point of view, they have been close to perfect."
