Chelsea have reportedly rekindled their interest in Turkish international striker, Burak Yilmaz.
The Blues were linked to the 28-year-old Galatasaray star during the pre-season transfer window, but did not move on their interest.
Instead, the free-scoring journeyman came close to moving to Lazio, only for the transfer to fall through at the final moment.
Chelsea are in dire need of a reliable goal scorer, with Fernando Torres still to rekindle his touch in front of goal at Stamford Bridge, Romelu Lukaku on loan at Everton, and Samuel Eto’o hardly the player he once was.
The Turkish media believes that Chelsea may be willing to let Senegalese hit-man, Demba Ba, join Gala in part-exchange for Yilmaz.
And the Turkish club says it will give their star striker their blessing if he is to make a career-defining move to West London in January.
Speaking at the Leaders in Football conference currently taking place at Stamford Bridge, Gala president Unal Aysal said of Yilmaz: “We had some requests from Lazio at the end of the summer, but the deal didn't go through because the conditions were not satisfied.
“If he wants to go and Chelsea are interested then of course, why not? I favour Turkish players going to Europe to play in European leagues.”
