The rumours linking Wayne Rooney to a move to Paris Saint Germain will not go away.
PSG’s money men have gone on record a number of times this season to say they would jump at the opportunity to sign England international Rooney, if Manchester United were to put him on the market.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has even indicated a willingness to share centre stage at the Parc des Princes with Wazza.
Earlier this week United were linked to in-demand Atletico Madrid striker Falcao. And even though manager Alex Ferguson quickly refuted the rumour, it intrigued football fans to wonder where Falcao could theoretically fit into United’s forward line-up, already bursting with world class talent.
Well the answer could well be in Rooney’s place, after reports in France suggested a deal to take Rooney to Paris was already in place.
Speaking to sports tabloid Le10Sport, former PSG sports advisor Michel Moulin claimed an inside scoop on the deal.
"I can tell you from reliable sources that Rooney to PSG is a done deal. He will be at PSG next season," Moulin said.
According to English newspaper the Daily Mail however, Rooney himself is “baffled” by Moulin’s comments.
And after Rooney appeared in midfield for United in their 2-0 win over Stoke on Sunday, the new theory is that room for Falcao in the Red Devils squad could be made by dropping Wazza deeper in the formation, rather than by dropping him altogether.
Do you see Rooney at PSG or pulling the strings in Manchester United’s midfield next season?
