France smacked six unanswered goals past Australia in an international friendly on Friday night, with striker Karim Benzema finally breaking his goal drought.
Benzema had not scored in over 1200 minutes of football for the national team, but slotted their sixth and final goal against the Socceroos.
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud bagged a brace while Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy scored and Franck Ribery fired in the opener from the penalty spot.
The French were in control from the start and eight minutes in David Carney handled in the area and Ribery rifled a shot past the goalkeeper from the spot.
Their advantage was doubled soon after as Ribery pulled the ball back for Giroud who lifted a superb finish over the goalkeeper.
The Arsenal forward made it 3-0 in the 27th minute as he tapped in a simple finish after terrific work from Ribery and Samir Nasri.
Things started to get embarrassing for the Australians two minutes later as Cabaye smashed a powerful shot into the bottom corner after a pass from Ribery.
France were not quite done though as Debuchy thundered in a volley after some poor defending after the break before Benzema finally rattled the back of the net when he turned in a cross from Ribery to end a goal drought that has lasted since June last year.
With a handsome lead, chances slowed but France could have added a few more as they stormed to a comfortable win.
