After he was believed to have chosen to represent an African country over Spain, a former FC Barcelona starlet has now been called up to La Furia Roja's latest squad to replace a player who had to be withdrawn due to injury.
Last week, it was reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore had decided he was going to play for Mali, having previously only represented Spain at age-group level.
The 23-year-old, who qualifies to play for the African country through his family, was called up to play for Mali back in 2014, but chose not to switch his allegiance at that stage.
Traore has now accepted a late call-up from Spain, just days after it was reported that he was set to play for Mali.
Since leaving the Catalan giants in 2015, the right-winger has played for Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and now Wolves in England.
The player has, however, since withdrawn from the squad due to injury.
