Former Bayern Munich coach, Ottmar Hitzfeld, has backed Pep Guardiola to bring more success to the German giants.
Hitzfeld, who guided Switzerland to the last-16 at the World Cup, has won 13 trophies with Bayern, among them the Champions League, and insists the Spaniard will follow his pathway.
"I reckon Guardiola will stay at Bayern for a few more years and I have no doubt about it that the club will continue to be successful with Guardiola at the helm," he told Kicker.
"Bayern said that they will never fire Guardiola in an attempt to make it clear that his position is stable and that is a good thing. It shows that they are 100 per cent satisfied with Guardiola.
"Success always helps strengthen a coach's position. But I get the feeling Bayern are on the same page as Guardiola anyway.
"Bayern need a strong coach like Guardiola. Although I get the feeling that he's open to the opinion of others as well."
Meanwhile, new signing, Mehdi Benatia, who joined Bayern for around £24 million on Tuesday, has also hailed Guardiola as the reason why he joined the Bundesliga side.
"I am very happy that my transfer to Bayern is happening at last," the centre-back told Sport1.
"The move dragged on for a bit and at some point I feared that it could fall through.
"But Guardiola desperately wanted me at Bayern and an agreement was eventually reached. Guardiola is a fantastic trainer and I am looking forward to working with him.
"Bayern have a lot of amazing players and it is a dream come true to be part of this great squad."
