FIFA U20 World Cup Update

Group C:

Australia 1-2 Turkey: Jamie MacLaren put the Australians ahead in the 51st minute but two minutes later Hakan Calhanoglu brought the game level. A draw looked to be on the cards but with four minutes to go Okay Yokuslu fired home to ensure that the tournament hosts finished in second place in Group C.

El Salvador 0-3 Colombia: Andres Yair Renteria opened the scoring in the 20th minute while Jhon Enrique Cordoba extended their lead from the spot four minutes later. Juan Fernando Quintero then wrapped up the result late on as Colombia won the group.

Group D:

Greece 1-1 Paraguay: Greece remained top of the group with Paraguay second after they played out a stalemate on Friday. Gustavo Gomez was sent off for the South Americans just 21 minutes in and Dimitrios Diamantakos put the Greeks ahead in the 67th minute. Brian Montenegro would secure a share of the spoils though as both sides booked their place in the next round.

Mali 1-4 Mexico: The Mexicans finally brought their FIFA U20 World Cup campaign to life but it may be too little too late. Marco Ontiveros, Jesus Ruis, Jesus Lugo and Uvaldo Martinez were on target for Mexico as they secured an emphatic win over Mali. The Africans scored through Samba Diallo but it was no more than a consolation goal.
