Nigeria Demolish Australia, Belgium See Off Korea In U17 WC

Reigning FIFA U17 World Cup champions Nigeria advanced through to the quarter-finals after demolishing Australia 6-0 at the Estadio SausalitoVina Del Mar.

The Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen scored an impressive hat-trick on the night, which helped his country end Australia’s unbeaten run.

Nigeria will now face Brazil in the quarter-final on 01 November.

Korea Republic 0-2 Belgium

Ten-man Belgium won their first ever FIFA U17 World Cup knockout game, defeating Korea Republic 2-0 in a straightforward victory.

Jorn Vancamp became the first player to score against the Taeguk Warriors at the World Cup, before Matthias Verreth's late stunner confirmed the European side's progress.

The win has seen the European side setup a last-eight date with the winners between Costa Rica and France, who play in Puerto Montt on Thursday.
