Messi Explains Dybala Situation

FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi Explains Paulo Dybala Situation

By Kurt Buckerfield - Mar 27, 2018 07:59 AM @KurtLaduma

FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has explained exactly why he struggles to play with Juventus star Paulo Dybala, who was snubbed for Argentina’s latest squad, while he also addressed rumours that they fell out.

Drogba Makes Big Messi Claim

Last year, the Juve man admitted that he and Messi have not quite worked out how to play alongside one another, as they generally play in the same position for their respective clubs.

The Catalan club forward denied talk that he was offended by Dybala’s comments at the time, in fact, he was in complete agreement with his countryman.

Messi has now gone into more detail about their struggles to perform together on the same side, which might explain Dybala’s absence from Jorge Sampaoli’s latest Albiceleste squad.

"I spoke to Paulo about (those comments), what he said is the truth," he explained to FoxSports.

"At Juventus he plays just like me, we look for the same spaces. Alongside me in the national team he had to play more on the left, maybe he's not so used to that.

"It is harder for us to play there, I rarely venture down the left-hand side. On the right we can cut inside and we have the whole pitch in front of us.

"The truth is that I understood exactly what he meant, there was nothing that needed clarifying."

Five Messi Records Ronaldo Might Never Break

Argentina take on Spain on Tuesday night in an international friendly, where Messi could make his return to the starting XI after missing his country’s latest game against Italy.

But that doesn't explain he's exclusion from the squad, as well as Icardi.
