Monaco have begun negotiations to sign both Radamel Falcao and Victor Valdes, according to overnight reports in the football media.
AS claims that Atletico Madrid striker Falcao and his agent Jorge Mendes will meet with Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev on Tuesday, to thrash out what is expected to be a €60 million move to France for the Colombian.
The Ligue 2 champions have blown Falcao’s multitude of top-quality suitors out of the water with their financial might, as they seek to build a team capable of annexing the French top-flight at the first time of asking next season.
Meanwhile, Agence France Press has reported that Barcelona goalkeeper Valdes is also in Monaco to discuss his transfer to the billionaire club on the French Riviera.
32-year-old Valdes will not be renewing his contract with the Spanish champions, after claiming he wants a new challenge in his football career.
As a result, Barca are likely to cash in on Valdes by flogging him to moneybags Monaco one season before his contract expires.
Valdes is thought to have a host of suitors, but he has been tipped to join the revolution underway in French football.
