On Sunday Manchester City returned to first position on the table with a 1-0 away win over Newcastle, with the home side having a goal controversially ruled out, while Liverpool beat Stoke 5-3 away in an exciting goal bonanza to move up to fourth.
In Spain,the two clubs at the top of the table, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, played to a goalless draw on Saturday, allowing third-placed Real Madrid a chance to close the gap on them to just three points, as they beat Espanyol 1-0 away on Sunday.
