Soccer-Laduma looks back at the weekend that just passed to see how things panned out for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
In Spain Real Madrid went to the top of the La Liga on Saturday when they beat Granada 2-0, but 24 hours later Atletico Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 4-2 and then Barcelona beat Malaga 3-0 for both to go one point ahead of Madrid again, with Barca top on goal difference.
In Germany, 2014 saw Bayern Munich continue their winning ways as they extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga by 10 points when they beat Monchengladbach 2-0 on Friday night, while Borussia Dortmund were held to a 2-2 draw at home on Saturday.
In England it was an FA Cup weekend that saw Liverpool beat Tokelo Rantie's Bournemouth 2-0 away while Manchester City had to come from 2-0 down at home to beat Watford 4-2.
Everton made light work of Stevenage as they won 4-0, while on Sunday Chelsea needed a great free kick by Oscar to grind out a 1-0 win over Stoke.
The big transfer news of the weekend also happened in England as Juan Mata completed his move from Chelsea to Manchester United.
