It was an exciting Saturday in the English Premier League with 22 goals scored across seven games as Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Stoke City and Swansea all picked up wins.
In the day’s early game Manchester City bounced back from their defeat to Manchester City in midweek with an impressive 4-1 win over Aston Villa.
A brace form Wayne Rooney inspired United to come from a goal behind to pick up the three points which sees them in seventh place on 54 points while Villa occupy 12th spot on 34 points.
In the surprise of the day an own goal from John Terry saw Crystal Palace beat Chelsea 1-0.
Chelsea still top the league standings with 69 points after Arsenal and Manchester City played to a 1-1 draw.
City had the chance to go top, but failed to do so after David Silva’s opener was cancelled out by Mathieu Flamini.
The result leaves City in third place on the table with 67 points, two shy of Chelsea but having played two games less as well. Arsenal occupy fourth place on 64 points.
In the most convincing win of the day Jay Rodriguez scored a brace in Southampton’s 4-0 win over Newcastle United.
The win moved Southampton up to eighth on the table with 48 points while Newcastle dropped below them to ninth on 46 points.
Jonathan de Guzman also scored a double in Swansea’s 3-0 win over Norwich which saw them jump above their opponents on the day to 13th place with 33 points. Norwich are in 15th place on 32 points.
The most entertaining game of the day was a six goal thriller contested in the relegation zone as West Brom and Cardiff played to a 3-3 draw.
The result sees West Brom one place outside of the relegation zone in 17th place on 29 points while Cardiff are in danger in 16th place on 26 points.
The final result of the day saw Stoke City with slender 1-0 win over Hull City thanks to Peter Odemwingie.
The win lifted Stoke up to tenth place on the table with 40 points while Hull sit in 14th place on 33 points.
