Kagiso Dikgacoi limped off after 18 minutes as Crystal Palace continued their surge up the Premier League table after they beat Aston Villa 1-0 at Selhurst Park. Jason Puncheon's 76th minute strike secured the three points Palace as they moved up 12th on the table.
Fulham boosted their hopes of Survival after they defeated Norwich City 1-0 at Craven Cottage. Hugo Rodallega's close range strike in the first half sealed the win for Fulham. The Cottagers moved up to 18th in the league standings, two points from safety.
Another relegation candidate, Cardiff City picked up an important three points, after they downed Southampton 1-0 at St Mary's. Torres Ruiz's second half strike ensured they are now only three points adrift of safety.
Erik Peters' crazy strike in the first half earned Stoke City a 1-0 win over Newcastle United at the Brittania Stadium. The Dutchman's cross-cum-shot sealed the win for the Potters but they remain in 10th spot, as do Newcastle in ninth.
