Second-half goals from Diego Costa and Edin Hazard secured Chelsea a 2-0 win over a stubborn Leicester City on Saturday, their second win in a row in the Barclays Premier League.
New Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, was the first to score when he broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute, for his second goal in two league games.
Edin Hazard doubled the lead in the 77th to hand the Blues their second successive win of the new Barclays premier league season.
Chelsea looked unhurried, bossing possession in the early stages of the match with new signing Cesc Fabregas in the thick of things.
Leicester City on the other hand were doing well, and managed to press Chelsea once the Blues entered their half.
Fabregas and Schurrle looked dangerous every time in attack, but Leicester remained solid and held on to the half-time break without concEding.
The visitor’s goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, was great in the in the first half, making important saves to remind fans of his father, the legendary Peter Schmeichel.
The match headed to the half-time break goalless.
Chelsea improved their game in the second half and were nearly rewarded in the 47th minute, when Oscar hit the post.
Schmeichel made great more saves to keep his newly promoted side in the match.
Chelsea goalkeeper, Courtois, made a top save in the 54th minute to deny Leicester’s striker, Nugent.
Chelsea finally broke the deadlock as in-form striker, Diego Costa, scored a home debut goal to put the Blues ahead.
Costa blasted home after a good play by Ivanovic for the opening goal of the match.
Edin Hazard killed the match off in the 77th minute when he scored Chelsea’ s second goal.
The Belgian beat a few Leicester defenders with pace and skill before he slammed the ball low into the far corner, after taking a slight deflection, for the second goal of the match.
