Goals from Ross Barkley, Romeo Lukaku and Leon Osman handed Everton a comfortable 3-0 victory over Newcastle in a Barclays Premier League match played on Tuesday night.
Barkley broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute after getting past a handful of Newcastle defenders for the opening goal of the match.
Everton squandered a lot of good goal scoring opportunities with Spanish youngster, Gerard Deolofeu, the main culprit.
Newcastle also tried to apply pressure on Everton towards the half-time break, but lacked quality up front in the absence of their top goal scorer Loic Remy.
The match reached the half-time break with Everton still leading through Barkley’s goal.
Everton kicked-off the second-half and increased their lead in the 52nd minute with Deolofeu providing a good assist to Romeo Lukaku, who puts the ball past Tim Krul to make it 2-0.
Second half substitute- Hatem Ben Arfa breathed some energy into Newcastle and his team nearly pulled one back through Vurnon Anita, who wasted a good chance after the hard work by the French midfielder.
Everton scored the third goal just a few minutes before the final whistle with Deulofeu once again proving a menace to deal with for Newcastle. The Spanish youngster made another assist as he played the ball to Lukaku who set up Osman to finish off Newcastle.
