Chelsea Crash To 1-0 Defeat At Selhurst Park

A John Terry own goal sunk log leaders Chelsea to a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

Man City and Liverpool will have a chance to topple Chelsea, as City are in action later, only three points adrift of Chelsea and Liverpool who are only a point behind the leaders, playing on Sunday.

In the fourth minute, David Luiz hit a right footed shot from more than 35 yards out, after a sliding pass from Branislav Ivanovic, that went high.

Fernando Torres found a glorious chance in the 12th minute, but his shot was blocked by the Palace defense wall from the centre of the box.

Yannick Bolaise hit a right footed shot in the 25th minute from just outside the box that missed inches to the left.

In the 28th minute, Andre Schurrie made a deft pass to Torres. The Chelsea striker hit a left footed shot from the right side of the box that was again blocked by the Palace defense wall.

Petr Cech made a crucial save in the 39th minute. Mile Jedinak's right footed shot from outside the box found Cech in a good position to deny Palace the opener in the centre of the goal.

A minute later, Frank Lampard made a brilliant cross into the centre of the box. Torres met the cross with a header, but he directed it too high.

In the 50th minute, Torres hit a left footed shot from outside the box that was close but missed inches to the left.

Two minutes later, John Terry scored an own goal. Jason Puncheon hit a left footed shot from outside the box that Terry only succeeded in guiding it into his own net.

In the 54th minute, Eden Hazard hit a right footed shot from outside the box that was saved by Julian Speroni in the bottom right corner.

Terry almost made up for his earlier concession, seconds later, as his header from the centre of the box missed only a few inches to the right.

Terry resurfaced again in the 63rd minute with a header from the centre of the box following a cross from Oscar. The Chelsea centre-back's header went too high.

In the 73rd minute, Hazard hit a right footed shot from the centre of the box that was saved by Speroni in the top centre of the goal.

Kagisho Dikgacoi made a deft pass to Puncheon in the 79th minute. Puncheon punched a right footed shot from the right side of the box that was saved in the centre of the goal by Cech.

In the 88th minute Torres hit a right footed shot from the left side of the box that went too high and wide to the right.
