AC Milan received a big money bid from an unnamed English Premier League team for their young striker Stephan El Shaarawy.
But according to vice-president Adriano Galliani, El Shaarawy rejected the chance to bank a hefty salary increase in order to commit his future to the Rossoneri.
It is thought that either Chelsea or Manchester City were the source of a €30 million bid for 20-year-old El Shaarawy.
But after talks with the club to assess how he fits into their plans for the future, he opted to stay and continue his burgeoning partnership with Mario Balotelli.
"El Shaarawy and Balotelli are great friends and if there's any problem, then it is of a tactical nature and not because of their character," Galliani explained.
"We received a huge offer for Stephan and he said the money he earns at Milan is enough for him.
"He's a fan of this club and he is more than happy here. I'm convinced he will play a great season."
