Jakub Blaszczykowski put in a fine performance as he helped Borussia Dortmund to a 3-0 win over Nurnberg on Friday.
The defending Bundesliga champions claimed all three point with a solid display as Blaszczykowski bagged a double and Robert Lewandowski capped off the win.
'Kuba' had his first chance just five minutes in when he burst into the area and pulled the ball back for Lewandowski but he failed to find the gaping goal from 10 yards out.
Tomas Pekhart responded at the other end with a free header but it was straight at Roman Weidenfeller before the stopper had to deny Markus Feulner on the follow up.
Dortmund earned a penalty moments later when Lukasz Piszczek was brought down and Kuba fired home from the spot.
The hosts were now in control and Blaszczykowski would complete his brace soon after when he swept home a cross from Mario Gotze in the 21st minute.
Lewandowski had the ball in the back of the net before the break but the strike was ruled out by the offside flag.
The second-half failed to come to life for some time, though Dortmund were never under pressure. The hosts continued to search though and their third goal finally came with two minutes to go as Marco Reus cushioned the ball to Lewandowski who buried an emphatic finish.
The result puts Dortmund into second place, though Bayer Leverkusen could move above them once again by the end of the weekend.
