Borussia Dortmund beat Mainz 05 3-1 at the Coface Arena in a Bundesliga clash on Saturday.
Robert Lewandowski got a brace of penalties, which Perre-Emerick Aubamayeng scored Dortmund's other from a free kick. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored from the spot for Mainz.
In the 10th minute Zdenek Pospech tried a shot from outside the area for Mainz, but it was saved by Roman Weidenfeller.
A minute later Weidenfeller saved again, this time from a long range effort by Johannes Geis.
In the 14th minute Erik Durm had a chance for Dortmund, but Loris Karius saved his shot from outside the box.
Shinji Okazaki had a chance for Mainz in the 18th minute, but Weidenfeller saved his effort.
In the 26th minute Robert Lewandowski tried to give Dortmund the lead, but his shot went wide to the right.
Just before half-time Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a shot from outside the area, but Karius made a good save.
Early in the second half Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting tried from a tight angle, but he just missed to the right of goal.
On the hour mark Sokratis went close for Dortmund, but his header just went over.
Aubemeyang gave Dortmund the lead in the 70th minute as he shot into the top left corner from a set piece.
But less than five minutes later the score was 1-1, after Lukasz Piszczek conceded a penalty and and Choupo-Moting scored from the spot.
In the 79th minute Elkin Soto handballed in the box and Dortmund were awarded a penalty, and Soto was shown a red card.
Lewandowski stepped up and converted to make it 2-1 to Dortmund.
Just before full-time, Dortmund were awarded another penalty after Erik Durm was fouled in the box, and Lewandowski made no mistake to make it 3-1.
