Costa: My Goals Will Dry Out

Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, has warned the club’s fans that his goal-scoring run won’t continue forever.

The Brazil-born Spaniard had a magnificent start to his Chelsea career, scoring seven goals in his first four Premier League games and helping his side to the perfect league start.

"I try to play in the best manner, and hopefully things will continue like this, but there will be a moment when I cannot score. That is football," Costa said.

"Every striker has their way of playing and their strengths and a different team behind them. That is very important. If you do not have the team behind you, then you can't do things on your own. It all depends on the team.

"I am adapting very well, although it's not just me. The key is the group that we have. It is like a family. The squad and all the people around the team are united in our cause."

Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, has also tried to take pressure off Costa’s shoulders and indicated the 25-year-old that he didn’t expect such a brilliant start from his new main striker.

“We do not expect that after eight matches he has 14 goals,” Mourinho told the Mirror.

“I think it’s asking too much. I’m not expecting that. If he keeps scoring, then his goals mean points and they will help the team into the top places of the table.

“Seven goals in four matches has surprised me because it’s something that is not normal. It is not cyclical. You cannot repeat it. Maybe in the next four matches he will score two goals.”

Chelsea will now play Schalke in the Champions League before they travel to Manchester City for their first big Premier League clash on Sunday.
