Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Costa, has admitted ‘it looks’ like he will be playing for Chelsea next season.
The Brazil-born Spaniard is set for a move to Stamford Bridge after reports suggested the Blues have paid his buy-out clause of £30m (R 534 million).
Costa has reportedly already undergone his medical and Sky Sports claims that a deal could be concluded by Tuesday.
He started Spain’s World Cup build-up match against El Salvador on Saturday and confirmed after the game, when asked whether he was heading to Chelsea “Well it looks like that.”
The 25-year-old has scored 36 goals for Atletico Madrid this season and helped them to win the La Liga trophy as well as to reach the Champions League final.
He also confirmed that his injury problems are over and he is fit to play at the World Cup.
“I’ve had an injury and you always have a doubt in the back of your mind that it could reappear – you feel good but you worry about getting a tear. Tonight, I feel really good,” he added.
“To be honest, it’s been a great week. Every day I am feeling better but it was important for me to test myself in this game.
“I’ve still got the injury preying on my mind but I felt good during the game and that is benefical to help me get over it psychologically.”
