Ronaldo’s Celebration A Movie Stunt?

It was the 120th minute in the Champions League final and the game was already won, but Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated his goal as if he had just changed the game.

Ronaldo whipped off his shirt ecstatically after scoring the penalty to seal Real’s 4-1 triumph after extra-time in Lisbon.

Many, including players and staff from Atletico Madrid, were agitated by Ronaldo’s celebration, surprised at least.

Strangely, the celebration was also in stark contrast to his reaction when Sergio Ramos equalized in the 93rd minute or when Gareth Bale scored Real’s crucial second goal, when he didn’t join the jubilant celebrations.

So why all of a sudden the massive outburst when the game was already won? Perhaps Ronaldo wanted to be the man to be remembered for the La Decima - the Los Blancos tenth European Cup.

But Spanish journalist, Jose Felix Diaz, has now explained that Ronaldo’s celebration was all for the cameras and will be included in ‘Ronaldo: The Movie’.

"Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated with excess for Real Madrid's fourth goal during the final in Lisbon. Few understood why and Atletico were outraged when they saw the actions of the Portuguese player,” Diaz explained as quoted by Eurosport.

"Well, the reason has little to do with the sport itself and with another facet that for many is killing football and that is the marketing.

"CR7 was being recorded by a special camera and his performance in the game will be part of the film: 'Ronaldo, The Movie.'

"The Portuguese forward knew where the camera was placed and ran towards there to celebrate the goal."

The story has not officially been confirmed, but neither denied and Diaz is an important Spanish journalist.

Whatever his reason behind this rather expressive celebration might be, it appeared a bit contradictory to his average performance during the game.
