CR7 Climbs Real's Hit List

Cristiano Ronaldo’s weekend brace against Getafe saw him leapfrog Hugo Sanchez into fifth-place on Real Madrid’s all-time scorers’ chart.

The Portuguese goal sensation has scored 209 goals in just 205 games for Los Blancos, whereas 282 games to score 208 goals.

CR7 has started the season like some kind of curse of global warming, leaving scorched earth on every field he takes to.

He has already scored six goals so far this season, and if he achieves yet another campaign in excess of 50 strikes, he will surely end it in fourth-place in Real’s scoring history.

The next man he must catch and pass is club legend Ferenc Puskas, who scored 242 goals for the Spanish giants.

Raul still sits atop the list of Real’s most prolific strikers with 323 goals for the club to his name.

But if as Real president Florentino Perez says, CR7 will spend the rest of his career at the club, he could well take Raul’s place in a handful of seasons.

Meanwhile, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti is satisfied with the winning run his gelling team has embarked upon.

They fell behind against Getafe in unfortunate circumstances, but the Italian has praised them for turning things around so strongly.

"Overall, the team played well for 90 minutes,” Ancelotti said.

“We were unlucky with Pepe’s deflection putting us behind, but the reaction was very good.

“In the first-half we did not play very quickly, but in the second, with more space, the match was easier and we had lots of chances."
