Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has given his backing to Gareth Bale ahead of Los Blancos’ Champions League tie against Juventus.
Bale has been in the spotlight since his world record move to the Bernabeu, and is expected to prove why he is the most expensive footballer in history.
He has shown glimpses of his ability for Madrid so far, but his impact has been limited by his low level of fitness, and a poorly timed run of niggling injuries.
He is poised to begin featuring more frequently in the starting line-up however, after Madrid insisted his recovery is on track, and that rumours of a chronic back injury were overstated.
And after admitting when he joined that “Ronaldo is boss” at the Bernabeu, Bale will be happy that the Portuguese goal machine is in his corner.
“I think Gareth Bale’s done well since he arrived,” CR7 said at a press conference on Tuesday evening.
“He’s had a difficult time because he didn’t do a pre-season, and his injury now.”
“If you speak with him, you can see he’s very excited to play, to help the team, to get better and better.
“But it’s better to leave him alone. Don’t make pressure for him. Pressure another player!
“Leave him alone, because I’m 100% sure he’s going to do well for the club.”
CR7 says that he has been impressed by Bale’s attitude and ability, and has tipped him to go and do great things for Real Madrid.
“He’s going to help us a lot, because he’s a fantastic player, a fantastic boy, and he always wants to learn, and this is most important,” he said.
