Both Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas have pulled out of the Spain squad for their international friendlies against African opposition in Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.
According to Barcelona’s official website Fabregas will be sidelined for seven days after spraining ligaments in his right knee during Sunday's 4-1 victory over Real Betis - in which he scored a brace.
The Barcelona man will be replaced in Vicente del Bosque's squad by club teammate Marc Bartra.
Costa, who is of Brazilian nationality, was due to make his first appearance for Spain after opting to play for the European country instead of his country of birth, despite making previous friendly appearances for Brazil.
A statement on the Spain team's official website said Costa had a thigh injury and had been replaced by Juventus striker Fernando Llorente.
Sapin are scheduled to face Equatorial Guinea on Saturday, November 16th, and then South Africa on Tuesday, November 19th.
