Ludogrets defender, Cosmin Moti, has saved two penalties to help his side to qualify for the Champions League group stages for the first time.
The modern fairy tale happened in the Champions League play off between Ludogrets and Steaua Bucharest last night.
Ludogrets forced the penalty shootout by winning the return leg against Steaua 1-0, but the side had already made three substitutions when their keeper got sent off in the 119th minute.
Defender, Moti, took the gloves and, after scoring the first penalty himself, saved the second penalty of Steaua after one of his teammates had also missed.
The shootout went into sudden death were Moti became a sudden football hero after saving Cornel Rapa’s spot-kick and racing to the home supporters to partake in wild celebrations.
The Buldgarian side has qualified for the first time in history as Moti became a modern football hero.
