With the clock winding down on transfer deadline day, the major European leagues have so far had a relatively quiet January climax.
David Beckham’s move to PSG is by far the biggest news of the day, followed by the confirmation of Mario Balotelli’s £19million move from Manchester City to AC Milan.
Rumour has it that Tottenham Hotspur are frantically working on a bid to bring Brazilian international striker Leandro Damiao to White Hart Lane, which would be a coup alongside their canny early signing of Lewis Holtby.
Nigerian international Peter Odemwingie could be in hot water, after he stormed out of West Brom without permission, and drove to Loftus Road in an attempt to force through a move to QPR.
And Arsenal have been linked to Malaga’s left-back, Nacho Monreal.
Further afield, Schalke have signed Michel Bastos on loan from Lyon, Emre has returned to Turkish giants Fenerbahce from Atletico Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur’s former laughing stock between the sticks, Heurelho Gomes, has joined Hoffenheim on loan.
Other confirmed deals so far include: Chris Samba [Anzhi Makhachkala-QPR] £12.5m; Kieron Dyer [Middlesbrough] unattached; Urby Emanuelson [AC Milan-Fulham] loan; Luciano Becchio [Leeds-Norwich] undisclosed plus Steve Morison; Paul Scharner [Hamburg-Wigan] loan; Danny Graham [Swansea-Sunderland] £5m; Rory Delap [Stoke-Barnsley] undisclosed.
