Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta have all openly expressed their dream of playing alongside Lionel Messi at Manchester City.
The Argentine superstar, who has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with comments of Barcelona’s Vice President, Javier Faus, could decide to turn his back on the Catalan giants, if he won’t get an improved contract.
“If it’s to come to City, I hope Messi can leave Barca,” said Yaya Toure, who played alongside Messi at Nou Camp.
Injured striker Sergio Aguero, who plays with Messi in the Argentine national team, hit into the same direction.
“Yes, he should come to City. Then we’ll definitely play together! City should buy him,” Aguero said.
Pablo Zabaleta, another international team-mate of Messi, revealed the Barcelona superstar has asked him about City.
“He asked me a lot about City,” said Zabaleta.
“It’s something we often talk about.”
Under the helm of City owner, Sheik Mansour, the Citizens seem to be one of the very few clubs, who wouldn’t be scared off by Messi’s massive buyout clause and could also easily afford the Argentine’s wage demands of over £200.000-a-week.
Are these comments honest aspirations to allure Messi to the Etihad Stadium or do the City players just want to unsettle Messi and Barcelona before City and the Catalan giants meet in the Champions League in February?
