Manchester United’s Mexican international striker, Javier Hernandez, is singing the praises of his club-mate at Old Trafford, David De Gea.
22-year-old De Gea endured a testing start to life at United, after joining the Red Devils with a big reputation from Atletico Madrid.
Questions were raised about his strength, both mental and physical, and his ability to tough it out in the dog-eat-dog world of the Premier League.
Slowly but surely, De Gea has begun to live up to his reputation as one of football’s most agile shot-stoppers, and was crowned champion after his second season at the Theatre of Dreams.
It is hard to believe that he is only 21, and De Gea is clearly destined to have a long and successful top-flight career ahead of him.
Chicharito is convinced. He says that De Gea has overcome his early wobbles at United to the extent that he is already the world’s best goalkeeper.
"For me, he's the best goalkeeper in the world,” Hernandez said of De Gea.
"Last season he really benefited from being given the opportunity to play on a regular basis.
"He was first choice and any player in the world shows his true ability when he gets the chance to have a decent run of games in the side.
"David has really shown his quality. He's doing very nicely, thank you."
