New Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, has reportedly suffered a hamstring injury, which could keep the forward out for up to six weeks.
Jose Mourinho is now sweating on the fitness of his £32 million signing after Costa pulled out of training.
However, the severity of the injury is not yet confirmed but early reports indicate that Costa could at least be out for four weeks, possibly even six.
The Brazil-born Spaniard, who scored two goals in his first two games for Chelsea, will undergo tests at the Blues’ training ground today. Chelsea’s coaching staff are hoping the injury is not as serious as initially feared.
If Costa was injured, Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres would come into the limelight, although the latter is linked with a loan-move to AC Milan.
Mourinho could also be forced to buy another striker before the transfer window closes in four days, as the Blues are linked with Roma’s Mattia Destro.
