Chelsea have reportedly agreed a £32m (R 560 million) deal with Atletico Madrid for their star striker Diego Costa.
Sky Sports reports that deal is done but will only be officially announced after Atletico Madrid’s final two games of the season.
Costa has been the star man for the Rojiblancos, scoring 36 goals in all competitions for the club.
The Brazil-born Spaniard has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but Atletico want no distractions before their La Liga and Champions League final.
Costa missed Atletico’s last game against Malaga, which could have clinched the title already had they not only drawn 1-1, but is set to return for the final La Liga game against Barcelona.
Jose Mourinho has long been looking for a ‘killer’ striker after his current trio Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba only scored 31 goals in all competitions between them.
Looking at these figures it is no wonder that Chelsea only scored 71 Premier League goals, compared to City’s 102 and Liverpool’s 101.
