A single goal from Aurelien Chedjou saw Cameroon beat Libya 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier at the Stade Omnisports Ahmadou-Ahidjo on Sunday and into the final stages of qualifying for Brazil 2014.
Cameroon had to beat Libya in their final Group I match to ensure their progress into the last stages of qualifying.
The win saw Cameroon top Group I with ten points, closely followed by Libya on nine points.
It was always going to be a closely contested affair as a lot was on the line for both teams.
Cameroon approached the game in an attacking manner as they knew they had to score to give themselves any chance of qualification while Libya seemed content to sit back and defend.
The first 45 saw the home side on top and applying pressure on the Libya goal. Cameroon were able to create a couple chances on goal, but their finishing was poor.
Finally, however, three minutes from the break Cameroon were able to make their pressure tell as Chedjou gave them the lead courtesy of a well-taken goal, 1-0.
The second 45 saw Libya come out of their shells a bit, but they were unable to break down a resilient and stubborn Cameroonian defence.
The Indomitable Lions held on for the win and a place in the final stages of qualifying for Brazil 2014.
