Cesc Fabregas has warned Arsenal’s English Premier League rivals that Mesut Ozil could tear them apart.
The German international was the headline piece of business on transfer deadline day, with most pundits left scratching their heads that Real Madrid could sell him after two successful seasons.
Ex-Gunners skipper Fabregas was one of the first football personalities to wonder at the wisdom of Real selling Ozil, and to congratulate Arsenal for buying the talented schemer.
And ahead of what is expected to be Ozil’s English Premier League debut at the weekend, when Arsenal take on Sunderland, Fabregas has tipped his former La Liga rival to set the English top-flight aflame.
Cesc went head-to-head with Ozil on more than one occasion in El Clasico’s midfield battle, and he believes the German is more than equipped to wreak havoc in the EPL.
“He is going to enjoy the Premier League an awful lot,” Fabregas said of Arsenal’s new record signing.
"It is a league with much more space and Ozil is a player that, given time and space, he will kill you.
“As we have already seen from his time at Real Madrid, his final ball is brilliant.
"I believe that he will really enjoy himself in England.”
