Edinson Cavani will blow a raspberry at Manchester City and pursue a move to Real Madrid instead, according to his chat-happy old man.
Cavani is expected to leave Napoli before next season, with City thought to covet his services, as they seek to fill the void created when Mario Balotelli was not replaced last January.
But Spanish giants Madrid are also keen to sign a striker, with Gonzalo Higuain likely on his way out of the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos are increasingly linked to Uruguay international Cavani, and his father says he would greatly prefer to move to Spain than the UK.
"Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid," Luis Cavani told Futboleros.
"He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through.
"He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli."
Real were thought to be eyeing Liverpool’s Uruguayan forward, Luis Suarez, and it is still possible that the two bosom buddies could play to together next season.
But according to Cavani senior, talks have already begun to send his son to sunny Spain.
"There has been contact with Real Madrid's lawyers and now we are waiting for the two clubs to meet," he said.
"I hope it happens and that talks take place as soon as possible. Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid?
"It's not just up to Edi. They are talking about 65million euros and Napoli won't negotiate for any less."
