Arsenal and Manchester City target, Iker Casillas, has expressed his desire to stay at Real Madrid win trophies with them this season.
Casillas, who lost his first-team place to Diego Lopez under Mourinho and didn’t find himself back in goal under new Real coach Ancelotti, has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, the 32-year-old Spain international insists he is fully committed to Real, the only club he ever played for, and doesn’t think of leaving anytime soon.
"Many people speculate logically and I do not know where I'll be in ten years, but my mind is white and I'm happy to be in Real Madrid," he is quoted in Spanish newspaper Antena3.
"Today I want to stay at Real Madrid and win 'La Decima' [the tenth European Cup],".
Under Ancelotti, Casillas has been featuring in Real’s Copa del Rey and Champions League matches and wants to help the team to win these two trophies.
"I belong to Real Madrid, it's where I've always been, and what I want is to stay here and win more cups and leagues,” Casillas added.
“Having such a long career and playing for this team gives you the chance to win trophies every year, but staying at Madrid for so long isn’t easy. You have to do better every year and the demands keep on increasing.”
Can Casillas be happy to feature in Copa del Rey and Champions League only? Would he play ahead of Diego Lopez in a potential Champions League final? Have your say in the comment section below.
