Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has confirmed Iker Casillas will play in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Atletico Madrid.
The 33-year-old shot-stopper has new competition with Keylor Navas, but Ancelotti trusts Casillas (for now) after he already played in the European Super Cup triumph.
"Iker will play tomorrow. There might be changes between the sticks for Friday's game, but IŽm not thinking about Friday for now,” the Italian said in his pre-match press conference.
"There is no favourite. The match is 180 minutes long. The decisive game will be on Friday in the Calderón."
Ancelotti also gave an update on James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos, who both didn’t start in the 2-1 friendly defeat against Fiorentina.
"He isn't lacking anything. He's just changed team, teammates, manager. We are happy with how he is getting on. We can't ask for more than he is already doing, just for him to get used to being with us. He lacks nothing,” he continued.
"He gives more quality to the team, more experience on the pitch. We have a better team than last year because we have players that give the team extra quality. But now we have to work hard."
The Real Madrid boss declined to respond to any Angel Di Maria questions after the Argentine has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
"I'm not going to talk about Di María's situation in order to not lose my concentration regarding tomorrow's game,” he added.
