Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has confirmed that Angel Di Maria has requested a transfer this summer.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United and it seems he wants to find a new club before the end of the transfer window.
“Di María has asked to leave this summer. The player has rejected a contract renewal,” Ancelotti confirmed in his pre-match conference for the return leg of the Spanish Supercopa.
"We will find a solution for Di Maria before the end of the transfer window, but he remains a Madrid player for now. We are in a situation that the player has to fix himself.
"If Di Maria cannot find a solution for his future, he will stay here. We embrace him and he can continue to work here. There's no problem."
The Italian confirmed that Di Maria will be in the squad for the return leg against Atletico Madrid and says he doesn’t care what his counterpart Diego Simeone thinks about the Argentine.
Ancelotti also confirmed that Sami Khedira rejected to sign a new contract, but the German midfielder didn't request a transfer.
The Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern target has one more year on his contract before he could leave the Los Blancos for free next year.
“Khedira has rejected the contract renewal, but has not asked to leave,” Ancelotti added.
Real face Atletico Madrid in the return leg of the Spanish Supercopa tomorrow.
