Swansea, Newcastle Progress In League Cup

Bafetimbi Gomis scored his first Swansea City goal, as they defeated Rotherham 1-0 in their League Cup clash at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

Southampton booked their spot in the third round of League Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Millwall.

Graziano Pelle scored his first goal for the Saints, after Jack Cork had given them a first half lead, as Ronald Koeman claimed his first win of the domestic season.

Newcastle United confirmed their passage into the third round, after beating Gilingham 1-0 on Tuesday night.

West Ham United were dumped out of the League Cup, after losing 5-4 on penalties to Sheffield United.

While, West Bromwich Albion also progressed via the penalty shootout, after defeating Oxford United 6-7, with Jason Davidson scoring the winning penalty.
