Manchester United were dumped out of the Capital One Cup after being thrashed 4-0 by MK Dons on Tuesday night.
Louis Van Gaal now remains winless since the start of the domestic season, losing two and drawing one.
Nick Powell came close to opening the scoring for Manchester United as early as the fifth minute, but his long range effort sailed inches wide of the upright.
It was the hosts who took the lead in the 25th minute, as Ben Reeves pounced on a poor back pass by Johnny Evans to tee up William Grigg, who finished into an empty net.
Powell came close yet again in the 35th minute with another long range effort that went narrowly wide of the post.
United struggled to get going in the first half, as Van Gaal's youthful line-up seemed a bit nervous at times.
However, MK Dons managed to double their lead in the 63rd minute, Grigg grabbed his second of the game with a finish from six-yards out.
Seven minutes later and the home side increased their advantage, as an unmarked Benik Afobe showed good composure to slot past David De Gea.
It got better for the League One outfit, as Afobe battled to get past three United defenders, before firing into the bottom corner.
United had a couple chances to grab a consolation in the closing stages of the game, with James Wilson going close with header.
