15 goals were scored across the five Bundesliga afternoon fixtures as Werder Bremen, Hannover, Bayer Leverkusen and VfL Wolfsburg registered wins while Borussia Dortmund dropped their first points of the league season.
The match of the afternoon was undoubtedly Leverkusen’s 4-1 win over FSV Mainz 05 away from home.
Robbie Kruse scored a brace before half time as Leverkusen took a commanding 3-0 lead into the break. A second half goal from Stefan Kiessling killed off the game before Mainz grabbed a late consolation goal.
The win sees Leverkusen up to second place on the table for the time being on 15 points.
Werder Bremen picked up their third win of the season after beating Hamburg 2-0 at home thanks to a brace from Nils Petersen.
The result combined with Nurnberg’s 1-1 draw against Dortmund (which was the shock result of the afternoon) sees Hamburg drop into the relegation places.
Hannover and Wolfsburg won by the same scoreline for their fourth and third league wins respectively.
Hannover beat FC Augsburg 2-1 thanks to goals from Artur Sobiech and penalty goal from Szabolcs Huszti.
Wolfsburg beat Hoffenheim 2-1 thanks to a brace from Ivica Olic.
The last Bundesliga game of the day will be between Schlake and Bayern Munich
