Juventus skipper Gigi Buffon is set to pen a contract extension with the Serie A champions on Wednesday.
It is believed that the veteran shot-stopper will follow his team-mates, Giorgio Chiellini and Claudio Marchisio, in signing a deal for less wages, but heavy with win bonuses.
34-year-old Buffon has been linked to a move away from Juve for the past few seasons, but always indicated that his preference was to stay at the club where he has played since 2001.
And so Juve manager Antonio Conte is happy to report that one of his most influential players has committed his future to The Old Lady for another three seasons.
Juve’s fans will also be overjoyed that one of their cult heroes is staying, and it is no surprise that Buffon will put pen to paper in a public ceremony on Wednesday.
"I am happy about his renewal," Conte told Rai TV.
"It means that the best goalkeeper in the world can continue playing with us for a long time!"
