Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, has confirmed Mario Balotelli settled in well at his new club but insisted the Reds are more than their Italian signing.
Balotelli joined Liverpool for £16 million this week and could make his debut against Tottenham on Sunday.
“He is fine. He has settled down very well and has looked fantastic in training,” Rodgers told media in his pre-match press conference.
“He is a good lad. He has done very well. He is top drawer, a real class act.
“His concentration is on his football, he is moving to Merseyside. But this is not the Mario Balotelli show. He has got a look of work to do.”
Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, believes Balotelli is an important player to have in the Premier League.
“He is a very good player and he is a star. For (the) Premier League, it is important all the big players come here,” said Pochettino after his side’s Europe League clash on Thursday night.
“Mario is a big player and a lot of people know that he has a very good skill but it is important for the footballer and Liverpool – not for us.”
Liverpool will travel to White Hart Lane on Sunday and will try to break Pochettino’s 100 percent record after the Spurs won both their opening fixtures.
