A brace from Jo helped Brazil put Australia to the sword as they run out 6-0 winners in an International friendly at the Estadio Nacional on Saturday night.
It was a commanding performance from the South Americans who never looked in doubt of winning the match.
Brazil were on the attack from the first whistle and Jo found his first of two goals in the eighth minute as he followed up on a Bernard attempt which struck the woodwork and fell into his path. Jo made no mistake with an easy finish, 1-0.
Jo found his second goal in the 34th minute as he knocked home a Bernard cross, 2-0.
Two minutes later and Neymar joined the party with his country’s third goal, beating a couple of defenders before producing an expert finish to make it 3-0.
The second half was more of the same and it took 13 minutes into the second stanza before Brazil found the back of the net yet again. Ramires heading home a Maxwell cross to make it 4-0.
Alexandre Pato added Brazil’s fifth in the 72nd minute after latching onto a Neymar pass and finishing with aplomb, 5-0.
Luiz Gustavo wrapped up a perfect evening for the Brazilians six minutes from time with a thunderous shot that found the back of the net from 22-yards out, 6-0.
