Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Seria A’s top scorer, Ciro Immobile, from Torino.
The 24-year-old scored 22 goals in Italy last season and has been included in Italy’s World Cup squad.
He joins Dortmund on a five-year contract on 1 July for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around £15.5m (R 271 million).
"With Ciro Immobile we are getting a versatile and dynamic striker who has established himself in a top European league in an impressive manner," BVB sporting director, Michael Zorc, told the club’s official website.
"His outstanding qualities fit perfectly with the profile required by Borussia Dortmund."
Dortmund coach, Jurgen Klopp, added: "He can, will and must still improve in many areas and we want to help him,.
"He has chosen us over many other clubs and is thrilled at Borussia Dortmund.
"He is a real powerhouse that has played in all positions and...he is used to operating with high intensity without losing any of his scoring prowess."
Immobile comes as the replacement for leaving Robert Lewandowski and believes he can improve further at Dortmund, adding his excitement at playing in the Bundesliga.
"I hope my skills improve further under the training of Jurgen Klopp," the 24-year-old said.
"In Dortmund I have the opportunity to measure myself against the best players in the world."
