Chelsea eased to a 2-0 win over Swindon Town in a Capital One Cup clash on Tuesday night.
The game got off to a fairly slow start but the Blue finally carved out a decent chance with Juan Mata sending Fernando Torres through but the goalkeeper saved with his face to keep out the Spaniard.
Torres was lively in attack and two minutes later the visitors hit the front as Ramires slid a pass through for Mata who drew a save from the goalkeeper but Torres raced in to poke home at the far post.
Chelsea were on top and six minutes later their advantage was doubled. Torres turned two defenders brilliantly before playing the ball in behind the defence for Ramires to race through and poke home.
Kasim responded for Swindon as he ditched the attention of Mata before fizzing a low shot at goal which Mark Schwarzer dealt with.
Swindon saw a headed goal disallowed for offside in the 51st minute as the hosts searched for a way back into the game before Schwarzer pulled off a superb one-handed save 10 minutes later.
Kevin de Bruyne had a shot blocked in the 65th minute before Willian should have added a third for the Blues when he latched onto the rebound after Torres' shot was saved by the Brazilian blazed his attempt high and wide.
Willian and Demba Ba then went close with similar efforts that were pulled just wide of the target while Torres almost danced in a third in the last minute of regulation time.
