Bianconeri Go Nine Points Clear

Juventus went nine points clear at the top of the Serie A table with their 3-1 win over Inter at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday evening.
Stephan Lichsteiner, Giorgio Chiellini and Arturo Vidal all got on the scoresheet for the defending champions as they continued Inter’s winless run in 2014.
The Bianconeri would have opened their account as early as the third minute if it wasn’t for the gloves of Samir Handanovic who pulled off a brilliant save to deny Carlos Tevez on the volley.
Juventus didn’t need to wait long until they took the lead. Stephan Lichsteiner was the man at the ball when his headed effort struck the inside of the post and rolled over the line from an Andrea Pirlo cross.
It was all Juventus in the opening stages of the game and Inter nearly pulled one back on the half hour when Zdravko Kuzmanovic sent his header narrowly over the bar.
Inter were struggling to win the possession off the home side and, when they did see possession, their counter-attack was squandered by Rodrigo Palacio.
The Argentine burst up the right flank and connected to a cross only to his effort blaze straight over the bar five minutes before the interval.
It wasn’t to be the final attack of the half as Handanovic pulled off another great save to deny Kwadwo Asamoah with his diving hands that rounded the ball around the post.
Antonio Conte’s men’s lead was doubled at the restart when Giorgio Chiellini turned the ball into the back of the net after Inter failed to clear their lines from a Pirlo corner kick.
Vidal made it 3-0 ten minutes into the second 45. Paul Pogba ran through the Inter defence before losing the ball in which the Chilean managed to pounce on and tap in.
Rolando reduced Inter’s deficit to 3-1 when he slotted the ball past Marco Storari in goal with 15 minutes to go.
