In a match-up between the third placed Bayer Leverkusen as well as current Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, the score ended up all square at 1-1 in a very one-sided affair, which the visitors were unlucky not have grabbed all three points.
The treble champions Bayern Munich took the lead after just over 30 minutes played through when Toni Kroos, but the home side clawed back when Sidney Sam equalised.
Bayern dominated Sami Hypia’s men, but failed to capitalise on the numerous chances they created and will feel that they should have won at the Bayarena.
Franc Ribery’s break down the left led to the opener, the Frenchman pulled the ball back to Kroos who was unmarked, and placed a left-footed shot into the roof of the net.
Leverkusen then replied instant, by grabbing an equaliser a minute later, when Sam poked home the rebound following Lars Bender’s shot at goal.
The visitors could have grabbed the lead once more when Thomas Muller’s header went just over before Xherdan Shaqiri shot at shot straight at Leverkusen keeper Leno.
Both teams could have grabbed a late winner but Bastian Schweinsteiger’s shot was cleared off the line before Leverkusen broke through Son Heung-min, but he could not find the back of the net.
The one point was still enough to take them clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table, even though Pep Guardiola's men could not find a winner.
